Sweet corn is at its peak of flavor and yield right now. Come buy some for backyard grilling, picnics, and freezing. You'll be glad you did.
We are the Ayres family, Pat and George, farmers for over 32 years. We grow high quality berries, sweet corn, pumpkins, gourds, hay, straw, soybeans and wheat in the beautiful Finger Lakes Region of central New York.
As good stewards of the land, we practice no till and zone tillage on all our acres, and use Integrated Pest Management (IPM) practices to minimize the use of pesticides to insure the highest quality in everything we produce. We have been using zone tillage and no till for over 13 years to build soil health, and our farm is often a stop on farm tours showcasing good soil health practices. George is often asked to speak at farmer meetings about zone tillage and good soil health.
We have also been growing cover crops on fields after regular crops are harvested. Cover crops, like oats, rye, tillage radishes, and clover protect the soil, recover left over nutrients, and build soil organic matter. We believe cover crops are the heart of successful no till agricultural production.
We sell many of our products at Fresh Ayr Farm Market, located on the corner of Route 96 and County Rd. 28 in the town of Farmington, NY.
